Sometimes the best things are the simplest. This steak rub takes minutes to put together and delivers serious flavour — with crispy, spiced searing texture and a fresh, zingy finish.
What you'll need:
- Steak (whole or diced)
- The 30 Plants House Blend
- Plain flour — equal parts to the House Blend (optional, for extra crispiness)
- Fresh coriander, chopped
- Chilli pepper flakes or fresh chilli slices
- Sea salt flakes
- 1 lime
Method:
- Mix the House Blend with an equal amount of flour (skip if you prefer a lighter coating).
- Pat your steak dry with kitchen paper — key for a good sear.
- Coat the steak evenly with the spice mix.
- Heat a grill or pan to medium-high. Sear on both sides until cooked to your liking.
- Rest briefly, then top with coriander, chilli, and sea salt flakes.
- Finish with a squeeze of lime and serve immediately.
Works just as well with diced steak for a quick weeknight stir-fry or wrap filling.
